ELECTRICS​

The official Electrical contractor for Factories of the Future Expo is Index Group their contact information can be found on the contractors page  

 

Shell Scheme Stands include 2 x spot lights per 6sqm of stand space, no power sockets are included and should be ordered via the Electrical Order Form if required.  

 

Index Group are responsible for and will carry out all electrical work on stands.  'Daisy chaining' of extension cables is not allowed.  Single extensions must be taped town and the flex not exceed 1m in length.

If you are bringing your own light fittings please contact Index Group their contact information can be found on the contractors page.

The venue provides general lighting in the hall, however if you require any lighting or power on your stand please specify your electrical requirements on the order form.

Please note that some stands will have the mains supply box and cable located within the stand space. Wherever possible this will be positioned in a corner or a void if there is one.

​

ELECTRICITY WILL BE CUT TO STANDS HALF AN HOUR AFTER THE SHOW CLOSES TO THE PUBLIC ON EACH DAY OPEN DAY.  PLEASE NOTIFY THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHOULD YOU REQUIRE 24HR POWER OR SHOULD YOU NEED POWER AFTER 17:00 ON 1ST MARCH.  

 

Electrical Power (build up)

 

Please note that power is not available during the build-up period so you must use hand powered tools. Initial connections to stands are made as early as possible.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

Evacuation

 

If an emergency evacuation is necessary during the event, the following message will be broadcast: “Attention please! Attention please! Will everybody please leave the building by the nearest exit. This is an emergency. The staff will assist and direct you. Please do not use the lifts.” Staff will guide you to your nearest exit.

Fire

 

Should there be an emergency, please take the following action:

1.  Break the glass on the nearest fire alarm point. These are located at each vehicle door and fire exit

2.  Tell a member of staff and give the location and nature of the incident

​

Medical  

​

If you need urgent medical assistance, please tell an Organiser or member of Security or any venue steward. If possible, give  the location of the casualty and details of any injuries (e.g. bleeding or unconsciousness). A member of the first aid team will come to help.

 

If you need non-urgent medical assistance the First Aid room is located in the Central Foyer to the right of the registration area.
